Nasdaq stocks to trade in Hong Kong

NEW YORK (CBS.MW) -- The Nasdaq will launch a program on Wednesday to trade some of its major stocks on the Stock Exchange of Hong Kong.
In December, Nasdaq announced an agreement to co-list Nasdaq and Hong Kong stocks on one another?s markets. This is part of Nasdaq?s effort in creating a global trading market for its member stocks.
The first group of stocks to participate in the pilot program are Amgen (AMGN: news, msgs), Applied Materials (AMAT: news, msgs), Cisco (CSCO: news, msgs), Dell (DELL: news, msgs), Intel (INTC: news, msgs), Microsoft (MSFT: news, msgs) and Starbucks (SBUX: news, msgs).
The group is expected to be followed by Hong Kong stocks listing on the Nasdaq.
A press conference is scheduled to be held overnight in Hong Kong and on Wednesday morning in New York.
