Hundreds of people showed up at Tinsel Town USA to see the controversial documentary "Fahrenheit 9/11." It was an advance screening before the film opened nationwide Friday.

The film is Oscar-winning director Michael Moore's critical take on President Bush and his policies following the September 11 terrorist attacks.

Organizers of the screening say Moore chose Oklahoma City for the advance showing because the state is seen as safe for Republicans.

Andrew Rice said Moore thinks it's good to show the film where it's not expected to be popular. Rice is the executive director of the Progressive Alliance Foundation, which got the proceeds from the ticket sales.

Rice said half the money will help military families who have lost a loved one in the war with Iraq.
