Ultimately the only thing that matters to the OEMs is the cost of a "high capacity floppy" solution. If Sony could get the cost of the drive down to Zip's then I think they could get a least a foot in the OEM door. But then they are up against the enormous installed base of the Zip which, by the end of next year, could be 25 million drives (including NEC, et.al.). Furthermore, IOM has already gotten feedback from the OEMs that there is no great demand (yet) for a 200MB solution. Remember that IOM has a 200MB drive already designed and tested but there is no compelling mass market demand. Do you think that Sony is somehow going to find a different answer when it goes to the OEMs? I don't think so.
