I notice you had to ignore my post to you that proved you a just wrong about the MAJORITY of our founders, goofy.
Jefferson was interesting wasn't he? Here are some more of his quotes:
"Can the liberties of a nation be sure when we remove their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people, that these liberties are a gift from God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? Indeed, I tremble for my country when I reflect that God is just." - Thomas Jefferson
"[Religion is] deemed in other countries incompatible with good government and yet proved by our experience to be its best support." - Thomas Jefferson
"The Bible is the cornerstone of liberty ... students' perusal of the sacred volume will make us better citizens." - Thomas Jefferson
All the world would be Christian if they were taught the pure Gospel of Christ! Thomas Jefferson
"In time of prosperity fill our hearts with thankfulness, and in the day of trouble, suffer not our trust in Thee to fail; all of which we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen." Thomas Jefferson
I am a Christian in the only sense in which He wished anyone to be Thomas Jefferson
Can the liberties of a nation be thought secure when we have removed their only firm basis, a conviction in the minds of the people that these liberties are of the gift of God? That they are not to be violated but with His wrath? --Thomas Jefferson
The God who gave us life gave us liberty at the same time; the hand of force may destroy, but cannot disjoin them. --Thomas Jefferson
My principle is to do whatever is right and leave the consequences to Him who has the disposal of them. --Thomas Jefferson
Our Saviour... has taught us to judge the tree by its fruit, and to leave motives to Him who can alone see into them Thomas Jefferson
[I consider] ethics, as well as religion, as supplements to law in the government of man. --Thomas Jefferson
etc*******************
OF course there are more, just as you could find more claiming something else. I find it amusing that you have to stick to three or four "Founders" while I have quoted over two dozen and can quote many more.

The infamous statement made by Jefferson, "Separation of Church and State" was taken out of context from a letter Jefferson wrote to the Danbury Baptists, assuring them that the Constitution protected their religious freedoms and would not allow any one Christian denomination to be established as the "Government Church". The statement was never part of any early historical American document. Thomas Jefferson would be furiously opposed to the way his words have been taken out of context and misused to brainwash future generations of Americans. |
