Bambs,

Don't believe everything you read.

"companies from Nintendo co. and palm inc. to cisco systems inc. say they may lose says because a shortage of parts is preventing them
from meeting rising demand for communications gear."

Cisco didn't say this. Bloomberg is reading into the comments made on the CC. Chambers couched everything in terms of "execution" and suggested that managing parts shortages required execution. Never did he say that this would prevent them from meeting demand.... so long as Cisco executes.

"...electronic equipment orders slumped a record 20.1 percent..."

I do believe electronic equipment in this case is referring to consumer electronics... not data/telecommuncation equipment.
