Easy enough to get to Nova Scotia to see the whales. From where you are, it would be a bit of a marathon drive though. However, it might be kind of fun if you cut through the Adirondacks, Vermont, N.H. and Maine... into N.B. and took the ferry across from St. John to Digby, N.S. and then drove up to Brier Island which is relatively close by. You can take whale-watch trips from the N.B. side, but I kind of think that Brier Island is the real mecca for seeing whales... maybe Grand Manan Island off the N.B. shore is as good. Don't know for sure.
