My understanding is that Israelis bought into their enemy's propaganda that people aboard the ships were 'peace activists'. Otherwise, it is impossible to figure out why they were dropping their guys, one by one, inside a crowd of armed homicidal/suicidal terrorists.

As Bearcatbob suggested, they could have disabled the ships - and then offer to tow them. If they refused to be towed, Israelis could have dropped on them cold coca colas, pizzas and hamburgers - while the Turks send in their towboats to collect their garbage. Hard to claim victory while you are clearly being humiliated.

Or, for instance, they could have used tazers or rubber bullets, which are more effective than the paint ball stingers. They could have used big sound blasters, like the ones used by cruise ships to fight off pirates.

Etcetera. Hopefully, they'll learn from this lesson. And hopefully, America will learn what kind of leadership they elected to run our nation. They signed an anti-Israeli resolution - and the next day they "deplore" it? Are they brain dead? I thought their claim to glory used to be that their mucho high IQ's would be such a great pleasant change after the "idiot" Bush...... what a disappointment... Bush was a genius compared to the current bunch.
