I saw enough of the statistics to appreciate the dangers. The vast majority of the instances that strike fear into your heart about gun ownership are because of irresponsibility.

A gun is no different than a motor vehicle, something that kills and maims by irresponsible people in staggering numbers.

Alcohol, cigarettes, promiscuous sexual behaviour, obesity, etc. How far should the government get in your face.

For some the right to possess firearms is no different than any of the other issues that impact all of us.

If you take out irresponsible behavior and black on black crime, I doubt there are many instances where you will be at risk for owning a gun.

I know people who have used guns to defend against intruders.

I know I would rather be armed in the event of some large scale catastrophe/attack.

IMO people should be given rigorous testing in order to purchase a gun. It is not a responsibility that should be taken lightly. There are way to many accidents.

The point in this case is that Cho should not have been able to legally obtain firearms. I suspect he should have been in an insane asylum.

I lived in a fairly risky city on Colombia with my family for two years. The most uncomfortable and threatening experience I had in my life to date happened in San Francisco when a very hostile, filthy and huge homeless sociopath accosted a bunch of us tourists in a Burger King.

The Cho's and these dirt bags should be incarcerated for good.
