The answer to both questions is yes :-). The 50 pin ribbon cables come in 4 and 7 connector types. Oh, I forgot the connector that mounts to the slot and the ribbon cable don't come together I bought them seperately
I'm a work right now (shouldn't be posting, normally just read but I've dealt with this issue recently so I couldn't resist a fellow IOMer in need especially a fellow Houstonian/Texan ) sent me an email if you need more info
or just to converse. I might be able to help personally this weekend if I have some free time.

BTW, I have a Compaq 4850 PII/300mhz with AGP,DVD,6.5 gb HD,1gb JAZ and now a ZIP+. SHhhhhh, Don't tell the bears these things can coexsist :-).
