Hi Dan, There are many others on this thread with a much better grasp (than me) of the big picture regarding MP3 and SDMI. But seems to me that whatever Diamond's involvement, it doesn't really matter. The thrust of the article is which software company (not hardware) stands to make a windfall from the SDMI developments. And it's been clear for some time now that REAL, through it's alliance with IBM on the Madison project, has the inside track. IBM is tight with the five major record labels. news.com If this pans out as I expect, it represents an indication of things to come. This exemplifies RNWK's biggest strength and MSFT's greatest weakness. RG strives daily to gain new alliances and partnerships building a healthy internet "ecosystem". MSFT focuses yet another day on closing out the other players and "taking it all". Which battle plan will win out as we move closer and closer to the internet becoming the "operating system" of the future?
