When I was in school, maybe one or two kids had new cars. The rest had used ones, maybe daddy bought it or we worked and bought one.

When I was in school, maybe one or two kids had used cars. The rest had bikes, some with a little engine, maybe daddy bought it. I had an old bike myself, very much used.

The difference between the US and most of Europe back then in the late 50s and early 60s.
