Chaz, as BG has stated in his response to me i-mode is technology agnostic. The problem however is that DOCOMO will only make i-mode available to WCDMA adoptors. Carriers either go the DOCOMO way or no i-mode.
Roaming is another issue but I'll take IJ's word that the net will make raoming a moot point.
