What would you all say is the reason for the sudden drop in a stock that seemed very stable around th 24-28 dollar range?

I'd say news about the beta release of spyhop and the financing drew attention to this relatively obscure, non-reporting BB stock with a quarter of a billion dollar market cap, and many people thought that was out of line with reality. They were probably right, Miles; I don't think a conspiracy theory is necessary to explain it.

I believe that the people calling it a scam are wrong. The business plan makes sense to me. (Of course, I learned about it from the wordcruncher.com web site, which could be a complete fabrication-- but I believe it's not.) I know that the CEO has experience in the software business with WordPerfect as it went from a spare-bedroom startup to market leader in the PC word-processor world, and I believe that to be relevant and credible. (I don't know enough about what he did there to call him a visionary or suggest that he alone was responsible for WordPerfect's success. WordPerfect was eventually crushed by MS Office and sold out to Novell, who kept the e-mail and sold the rest to Corel, who's barely been able to keep it alive; but I won't credit Mr. Lunt with that, either.)

You and I made a bet on this company's potential, and we knew it was a risky one (remember?). Win or lose, we're the ones who are responsible for what happens to our money.

PS BTW, here's a link somebody posted on RB that says a little about Dan Lunt's role at WP- fitnesoft.com.
