*Velocity Express Corp., Plymouth, formerly United Shipping & Technology Inc., said its trading symbol has been changed from USHP to VEXP.
*ADC Telecommunications Inc., Eden Prairie, said it will supply Powercor Australia with fiber equipment to 33 sites. Terms were not disclosed.
*Digi International Inc., Minnetonka, said it will hold a special stockholders meeting on Feb. 13 to vote on the company's proposed merger with NetSilicon Inc. Under the terms of the merger agreement, Digi will acquire NetSilicon in a deal valued at about $60 million.
*Deluxe Corp., Shoreview, said it has a contract extension with eFunds Corp. to provide electronic access to eFunds' account-opening services for financial institutions. The new non-exclusive contract is valid through 2005.
*Lawson Software, St. Paul, said it has signed 20 contracts with retail customers during its second quarter of fiscal 2002. The five new customers include Forever 21, Chico's FAS Inc. and the Nash Finch Company. The remaining contracts involve sales of additional Lawson products to existing customers.
*Check Technology Corp., Minnetonka, said it will seek shareholder approval to double the number of its authorized common shares to 50 million. The company also will ask for approval to change its name to Delphax Technologies Inc., according to a preliminary proxy statement filed Friday with the Securities and Exchange Commission. The board proposed the increase in shares to make them available for future financing, acquisitions, stock splits or dividends, the filing said.
*Alliant Techsystems Inc., Edina, said it completed a series of successful test firings of the Army's objective individual combat weapon that included the system's 20-millimeter high-explosive ammunition with an advanced air-burst fuse.
*Nistevo Corp., Eden Prairie, said International Paper signed a two-year subscription contract to the Nistevo Network for centralized contract management and distributed transportation execution for an estimated 450,000 annual truckload shipments.
*Rural Cellular Corp., Alexandria, announced the pricing of $300 million of its senior subordinated notes due 2010. Cash interest is payable semiannually on the notes at a rate of 9.75 percent a year. The net proceeds will be used to pay down debt.
*Retek Inc., Minneapolis, said the Gymboree Corp., a children's specialty retailer with 581 stores, will use Retek's Distribution Management to upgrade its distribution center systems.
*Net Perceptions Inc., Edina, said Meijer Stores, a Michigan-based superstore chain, selected Net Perceptions' Retail Revelations Advertising Advisor 2.0 software to enhance the company's efficiency and performance of its print circular ad program.
