David Gergen says Rovegate endangers Bush himself now. That this is no longer about who outed Plame so much as what did GW (and Cheney) know and when did he know it? Did GW cover up, condone the outing of a CIA covert operative, or is he just ignorant and stupid? In short, did Bush and Cheney commit treason to cover up a lie about WMD's in order to mislead us into war? This is the most serious charge that can be leveled against a president, and Bush-Cheney are guilty. Not only but did Rove orchestrate the theft of three elections using illegal means? We know it was unethical, but were the last three elections a covert coup d'etat? Then there are the energy gouging and Halliburton questions.
