My absence from SI kept me from posting here. Winter hit DC in a hurry the last couple of weeks, making most riding somewhere between really unpleasant and just unsafe when it's icy. Good time to put the bike in the shop this weekend for new brake pads and a tune-up. Normally, Performance would take 10-14 days to do that job in summer. I dropped it Friday afternoon for a Monday pickup this month.

Mostly doing shorter rides in the cold, 10-15 miles just to get the blood flowing and keep some tone to the legs. But spinning inside will be a lot more common the next three months. Boring, IMHO.

I do have one important winter goal - riding at least once each month in shorts. December had one day that almost hit 70, perfect for short everything. Bound to be one or two in January and February too.
