The reaction by AOL to USRX 56K modem announcement was interesting. Having that speed capability is a big advantage in this commodity pricing, dog-eat-dog, environment.

I keep having a recurring thought. You know how MSFT lays back and watches the innovators make their moves into new capabilities, and then they create a look alike capability and roll it into the MS offerings? MSFT doesn't eat their competition all at once, they just erode them away like the Colorado River in the Grand Canyon. I have this thought that YAHOO! and Pointcast and internet telephony and (insert your innovator) are providing business opportunities for the bigs. AOL is watching. MSFT is watching. T is watching. Convergence is coming. A shakeout is coming. It will not go well for anyone for a while. There will be a few dominant providers.

If you are short, I congratulate you. You have done well. What other bad news will befall the company and impact the stock? Isn't unlimited flat rate in the price at this point?

Good luck to all

Brian
