40 mg a day is a MONSTER dose of Crestor. Davis, when he does use it, puts his patients on 10mg every other day. His normal point for prescribing it is "over 250 LDL." It's the strongest statin out there. With the most side effects.

You must have one hell of a high LDL number to be on that much. Plus, the Doctor should have run an advanced Lipid panel to tell how much and what kind of LDL you have. Small LDL is six times as likely to cause an event as large. You can have a large number, such as 200, and if the majority is large, you don't have a problem. OTOH, your number could be 100, and if the majority is small, you have a problem.
