'Manning had been all steak, no sizzle'

That's the way i saw it ... he got a bad rap from the press, in several respects .. in a sad way it is true that 'the eastern voter wanted sizzle' .... says a lot about general intelligence in this country, and the regional split, the way nobody outside of Upper and Lower Canada has any say about anything ... a problem that was to be addressed in the triple-E senate, but of course that's not on, guess why .... i had the honour to meet Preston Manning years ago, immediately after the Doug Collins types had gotten the boot from the party locally, at his suggestion ... there is principle to the man, and a spine ... i also met Tommy Douglas more than once many years before that, and liked him a lot as a human being, great man but i wouldn't recommend him as prime minister ... Manning yes, i think we missed something there .... Day was a mistake period, Harper we shall see ... i want very much to support him, hoping that he does not in any way compromise health care, or kneel to Washington in the moments where it is crucial we stand on our own hind legs
