Think about this:

Even if Judge Jackson came out with ruling that MSFT violated Sherman
anti-trust act, and the appellate court is bypassed and case directly
goes to Supreme court, the following must happen.

Step1: Judge declares MSFT violated Sheman-act May be by Mid-March?
Step2: MSFT appeals - End of March
Step3: DOJ files for bypassing appeals
Step4: DOJ request is granted (But note remedies must be found before Sup. ct.
Step5: Jackson goes through remedies trail : Till October 2000
Step6: Supreme court trial ; 1year till October 2001 - early 2002.

In between: 100% of business on the planet would have installed Windows2000 and
running major business with it.
