Here's an a sad admission from yours truly: I didn't follow rule No. 1 of Internet research -- make sure you know the true source of the information. Last week's column pointed readers to a glowing review of USA SportsNet, a division of US AMATEUR Sports (USSP). Market Pulse Journal's cover story implied that this penny stock was an undiscovered Internet rising star. So far, so good, right? Well, USSP may well indeed be a great company. The trouble is, USSP swapped stock in exchange for Market Pulse's flattering cover story. Market Pulse posted a link at the bottom of the last page in the article that took savvy readers to a disclaimer saying so. Eavesdropper's mouse overlooked that important click. It's this column's intention to surf the hundreds of financial sites out there and look for the most original, thought-provoking and sometimes outrageous stock and market commentaries.
