Joseph, I agree with your sentiment and also Jeff's respone in the the post before this one. I spoke with my broker yesterday and he stated that the market is driving everything down (techs are bringing other sectors down hard also (which we all see)). When this weeks activity happens support levels usually do not apply anymore due to frantic selling. Those stocks with very strong revenues and earnings stay relatively flat, or if they have been sold off, usually rebound nicely and quickly at the first whiff of good news. My broker had no specifics about Gene and Merck agreement other than news release. He definately looks at this as a buying opportunity, but did not try to talk me into any more stock since he knows I have all in the market that I am able to invest (semi-safely). Anyway, look for more good things to come for GENE as this year continues, and I think it will be a profitable investment, even if we have to wait longer term due to the markets current sentiment.
