Tom, Vishay is a long term holding for the NAIC growth fund. I suggest you order a copy of the annual report. Vishay has had tremendous growth during the past years, and the co. makes a compelling case for investment, in that its widgets are needed in just about every computerized device made (the annual report will tell you this). Vishay is a good co., because it affords buyers one stop shopping for components. I like the industry, because there doesn't seem to be many players in it. AVX, Kyoecera, and KEMET Corp. seem to be the major players. Also, there is considerable cost competition, and thus VSH has relied upon acquisitions to grow. I don't really know how to value the co., but its book value is around $17 per share.
