It should operate the same regardless of the browser. Highlight the text, type Ctrl-C, place the cursor where you want to insert, type Ctrl-V. If it works in one browser, it should work in another.

Caveat: Some sites are optimized for one browser or another. For example, SI is optimized for Netscape. Some of the page elements that appear to a NN user might not appear to an IE user. Unless it's been changed since I last used IE, the "pop up" windows used here at SI don't work under IE. My point is - all thinks being equal - copy and past should work regardless of the browser being used.
