Art: It may be that Barnes & Noble and maybe even Amazon will have a claim against AOL for fraud. AOL will, no doubt, contend that the agreement with Barnes & Noble was for one kind of exclusive space and that with Amazon was for another kind. This distinction won't make much difference to AOL's customers and it may also not impress a judge and jury or other potential advertisers.

The issue points out one of the problems with the bullish plans for billions and billions of dollars in ad revenues. There is simply not enough space!

There are also too many competitors offering sites of equal or greater visibility.
