They might be able to make some profit with their J++ environment. It is a good product and Java might replace C++ in the future. The big question is JAVA or Active-X. Microsoft C++ users WILL NOT USE J++. I'm a developper and I can't use it. MS-J++ is NOT multi-platform, it works only with Windows, which defeat entirely the purpose of JAVA. Microsoft knows that, their goal is to defeat JAVA of course. I think many developpers using MS-C++ will switch to other JAVA development and Symantec environement will be a serious option for them. Watch out for Metrowerks code warrior as well, the leader on the mac is releasing its first development product for Windows.
