It’s official!!! MOPGCW is the 2015 Biotech Stockpicking Charity Contest Champ!!!
Congratulations MOPGCW!!!

The charity MOPGCW selected when posting his portfolio was Cambodia Tomorrow.
Donations may be made at their website: cambodiatomorrow.org

Meanwhile, there are only a few more days left to post your “2016 Biotech Charity Contest” portfolios.
The absolute deadline is: SUNDAY, 1/3/2016, MIDNIGHT, PST!
Please post your 2016 portfolios here:
Subject 59661
(Especially if you’re new to the Contest, please read the guidelines in the board Introduction before posting your portfolio.)

MOPGCW’s portfolio took the 2015 Contest crown with a spectacular 74.65% gain for the year, about 6.5 times the year’s gain of the large-cap Nasdaq Biotech Index and about 5.7 times that of the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index.

Both the second and third place Contest portfolios also achieved the exceptional feat of gaining greater than 50% for the year. GHMM’s portfolio took second place with a 56.65% gain, while DONS’ portfolio was just a bit behind in third place with a 55.24% gain.
Congratulations GHMM and DONS!

As a group, Contest portfolios put up a decent 2015 performance, finishing up a few percent less than the Nasdaq Biotech Index and the smaller-cap S&P Biotechnology Select Industry Index. For the year, the Contest median was up 9.89%, the NBI was up 11.42% and the smaller-cap SPSIBI was up 13.04%. The Nasdaq Composite Index managed a 5.73% gain for 2015.

At the close of 2015 trading, 36 of the 51 Contest portfolios were in the green with 23 beating the NBI and 21 beating the SPSIBI. The 206 Contest stock picks had an average 2015 gain of 3.00% but a median loss of -9.98%.

Below is the 2015 Top Eleven list (I included No. 11 as it was so close to No. 10). Also below are the year’s Top 5 & Bottom 5 Stocks.
(Foreign stock prices are not converted to US$ in these Tables.)
(All corrections, especially adjustments for buyouts & splits, greatly appreciated.)
I will be posting additional 2015 year-end Contest performance data as soon as I can get to it.

Many thanks to all for expressing appreciation for my Contest administration! I’m glad my aging brain is still functioning well enough to do the job.
Have a safe and fun New Year’s weekend!
Best wishes for a terrific 2016!
Peace & good health,
Bulba
