| In fact, I have never been in a Wal-Mart (or Sam's Club, for that matter) in my life. You don't like capitalism? The liberal "elite" used to scream, whine, bitch, and moan about poverty in the third world (still does, actually). So modern transport and communications allows 1st world jobs to be done in the 3rd world, making them (3rd worlders) more prosperous (did you say technology has nothing to do with "principles, philosophy, ethics and morality"? And maybe economics, which affects all of them?) Now the liberal "elite" whines about "outsourcing" which is accomplishing exactly what they claim they wanted before.

I said nothing about technology. ICBMs are only a sliver of technology.
Think so? I suspect you are an econ or liberal arts grad. You have NO IDEA of the amount of physics, chemistry, metallurgy, and mathematics that goes into one of them. You do know they have multiple computers, right- -those machines that have revolutionized the 2nd half of the 20th century?

In fact, as the technology advances, principles, philosophy, ethics and morality become even more important.
Tell that to the megaton warhead that just went off next to you.

You don't think technology affects these things? We used to hang men or behead them. Now we use "lethal injection" and there is a fight about how humane THAT is.

Previously there was no easy effective method of birth control. Now the pill is here- -in several different forms. The Pope seems to consider that a moral problem.

You better wake up. The world is changing around you and you want to wall yourself up in that stone castle and hold your enemies off with bows and arrows when they have cannon capable of dismantling those walls around you.
