DISC Introduces 20 and 40 Slot Automated Storage Libraries
MILPITAS, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Feb. 16, 1999--DISC, Incorporated (Nasdaq:DCSR - news) today introduced two new models to expand its family of optical jukeboxes.
The D20 model offers customers 20 media slots and 104 gigabytes of storage. The D40 model has 40 media slots and 208 gigabytes of storage. Both models can be configured with either one or two 5.2 GB optical disk drives.
These new models feature a durable mechanism with a mean swaps between failure rating of greater than one million, a menu driven interface panel, and disk exchange time as fast as 2.5 seconds. The D20 and D40 libraries offer customers cost effective storage capabilities with near-line access to their data. These factors are a must in the mission critical, enterprise applications where DISC's high capacity products are employed today.
Price and Availability
The D20 and D40 models are now available through DISC's worldwide sales channels, including OEMs, system integrators, VARs and distributors. Prices vary by capacity and model starting at $8,700.
