Strategic Alliance Unites Two Key Transition Resources to Help Consumers Manage Their Moving and Employment Changes
SAN FRANCISCO--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 26, 2000-- Recognizing that moving and changing jobs are considered among life's most stressful events, Move.com Group and Spherion Corporation announced today the launch of the move.com Career Center. Move.com Group is the operator of Cendant Corporation's (NYSE:CD - news) move.com relocation, real estate and home-related services portal, and Spherion Corporation operates CareerZone.com, a comprehensive online career management site.
Integrating the expertise of two Internet sites focused on pivotal life events, the move.com Career Center aims to help consumers manage their career changes before, during and after their move. This reciprocal agreement calls for CareerZone.com to provide visitors on its site with moving and relocation content provided by move.com. In turn, the move.com Career Center includes co-branded pages providing customers access to quality, up-to-date job opportunities and career expertise on such topics as average salaries for various positions, new job opportunities, and advice from professional career coaches.
``Given that consumers often move in connection with a job change, the move.com Career Center powered by CareerZone.com is an important addition to our portal,'' said Sarah Nolan, president and CEO of Move.com Group. ``This strategic alliance offers consumers the ability to find top quality guidance and assistance in their search for a new area, home and career all through the move.com portal.''
Launched by Spherion, formerly Interim Services Inc., CareerZone.com covers a broad spectrum of topics to help consumers build and manage their careers successfully. Recognized for its vast knowledge in such areas as consulting, managed staffing, outsourcing, search/recruitment, and flexible staffing, Spherion will continually provide high value career guidance and tools which will help move.com customers achieve their career goals.
``We are delighted to share our five decades of experience in career management with move.com's customers as they research an upcoming move,'' said Ray Marcy, chairman, president and CEO of Spherion. ``This alliance will enable Spherion to connect more than 1,000 recruiting, consulting and staffing offices with new candidates as they relocate.''
