Ovarian Cancer Clinical Endpoints Will Be Topic Of FDA/ASCO Public Workshop

FDA and the American Society of Clinical Oncology will hold a public workshop on clinical endpoints for ovarian cancer clinical trials on April 26.

The workshop is the next in a series of public forums on cancer endpoints held by the agency. Workshops on clinical endponits for lung, colorectal, prostate and brain cancer, and leukemia have been held previously.

Ovarian cancer endpoints are a timely topic as FDA’s Oncologic Drugs Advisory Committee recently turned down an ovarian cancer indication for Lilly’s Gemzar because of concerns that progression-free survival has not been validated as a surrogate endpoint for overall survival in that malignancy.
