Its shares jumped 23.3% to 37.79 on the stock market today.

Late Wednesday, Zscaler reported an adjusted fiscal Q3 loss of 2 cents a share vs. a 5-cent per-share loss a year earlier. Revenue soared 49% to $49.2 million. Analysts had estimated a loss of 8 cents a share on revenue of $46 million for the quarter ended April 30.

Zscaler's IPO on March 16 raised $192 million. The initial public offering priced at $16 a share.

"First quarter out of the gate, Zscaler reported phenomenal Q3 results with calculated billings growth of 73% vs. street estimate of 42%," said Brad Zelnick, a Credit Suisse analyst in a report. "Calculated billings over-achievement was driven by strong demand for its transformational cloud security platform."

Cisco A Competitor For the July quarter, Zscaler forecast a loss of 5 to 6 cents a share and revenue in a range of $50 million to $51 million. Analysts had projected a loss of 9 cents a share and revenue of $48.4 million.
