Interesting post from Yahoo board. At 10:30 AM, a big time inflection took by: long_vrts2 04/11/02 02:04 pm Msg: 15354 of 15361 place in AVAN trading. It had opened at yesterday's close, was down early and then took off like a rocket with heavy trading at 10:30A. I contacted my broker and was told that the word in the trading pits is that something significant (as in positive) is expected with AVAN. However, didn't get any specifics. Here are some speculations based on what we know was/is in the works: 1. Announcement of start of Phase III pivotal trial for Rotarix rotavirus vaccine in collaboration with GlaxoSmithKline. Rotarix is licensed to GSK, GSK to cover all development/commercialization costs. 2. Announcement of start of Phase III trial(s) for CholeraGard cholera vaccine. Fully owned by AVAN, trials also paid by AVAN. 3. Announcement of start of Phase II trial for Typhoid vaccine. Fully owned by AVAN, trial costs to be covered by AVAN. 4. Announcement of start of Phase I trial for Herpes vaccine or HIVAIDS vaccine. Herpes vaccine fully owned by AVAN. HIV vaccine licensed to DOD(?). 5. Major deal/partnership for CETi cholesterol vaccine, currently in PHase II trial. 6. Deal to sell/license TP10/TP20 franchise (I know, I know, but no harm in dreaming once in a while...) 7. AVAN to get funds from Federal Govt to develop new generation anthrax vaccine. 8. AVAN anthrax technology licensed to DynPort/DOD, either going into clinical trials, or already in clinical trials and doing really well. 9. Congress passing legislation requiring agri-business to use AVAN's MeganVax Salmonella vax instead of antibiotics. 10. Buy-out by big pharma/biotech. 11. None of the above.
