Great analysis by Erich Marquardt on the key problems the US occupying force is facing in Iraq today.

I would say that the basic nature of the war perhaps has made those problems unsolvable.

The basic nature include: The Iraq war was basically advocated and pushed by Israel and the Israeli citizens in US. The Iraqis have known about this since long time ago. Muslims and Jews are a pair of natural enemies. And the Iraqis will also remember that the Israelis start to pump oil from their homeland before everyone else since the "liberation" last year, among many other problems.

Under the situation, can Bush or Kerry still manage to woo the Iraqis to believe how good the occupation is for them, and make them help US to stop the insurgence and bloody fighting which continuously kill the US soldiers and the Iraqis?

Bush or Kerry may be still trying but objetively, I don't see they can do much of the above based on the nature of the war/occupation. The situation seems worse than the Vietnam war, I'm afraid.
