thanks for the link, doug.

norton software performs this process on my pc. most of the time when i go to use it, i end up being afraid that deleting the file will cause difficulties. <g3> fortunately, norton has a series of lights, green being okay to delete, then yellow for caution and so forth. that helps.

have you used the utility you posted?
