Of course the Electoral college does not use butterfly ballots. However, I do suspect that this is Gore's nuclear plan of attack if Bush uses the Florida Legislature nuclear attack first. Actually, I'd bet Gore will try to get electors to switch either way. He only needs 1 to tie and 2 (switching) to win.
