Yeah--all they have is a consumer electronics division that rules the marketplace, a movie-making empire that is rolling in cash with succesful films, and a recording division that is riding the wave of increasing record sales.

Of course Sony could afford to sell HiFD drives at a loss, even though they have to split media revenues with Fuji. But why would they? In case you were not aware of it, Sony is in business to make money. You can't make money by selling products at a loss.
