Bob, I was never trading SOES directly, I did it through a friend. This created a little bit of a delay but that was OK because VTSS does not change that quickly anyway. I stopped trading SOES because the MM's seem to widen the spread anytime the stock becomes volatile. I find that in these situtations, I can trade inside the spread and still get the order filled quickly using normal on-line trading.

I don't do this anything like full time. What I've found is that it is easy to spot almost "zero risk" plays in intraday trading if you dont try to force trades. As I reduced my trading I found that my ratio of good to bad trades went from about 5 to 1 up to 10 to 1. That makes a huge difference to the profitability of the trades. I talk with SOES traders doing 50 to 100 trades per day they dont really understand the stocks they trade and as a consequence they get faked out by MM games and bogus orders.
