Gambling addicts? My mother had a cousin who inherited 6 farms that averaged 400 acres each over a period of 12 years. A farm every two years with the profits of the rest being paid to him. In todays dollars he would have had an income of better than $300,000 per year for life from doing nothing. His life style, he could have lived on $25,000 a year and been happy but he wanted to be rich. Every time he got a farm he went to Vegas and lost it. Got down to $50,000 left and wanted to roll the dice for it. Dean Martin covered and gave him a bus ticket home. The cousin became a bell hop and finally died in a motel in Arizona, broke. I would have settled for the $300,000 per year. Maybe he was a good teacher on what not to do.
