I do a chili or a chowder for my Super Bowl party every year. It is *da bomb*.

My faves were a seafood (!) chili three years ago and a salmon chowder the past couple years.

Thank goodness our neighbor the English girl wasn't here to make her paella on the barbecue grill or I might have been upstaged (again) ... performance art!

Wanna do something fun the night before for a breakfast? Make this Saturday evening, but sub in Johnsonville mild Italian sausage for some of the sweet, and parmesan for some of the gruyere to secks it up. But then, I like it hot, including a habanero in the seafood chili and way more cayenne in the salmon chowder than I thought it would want before I tried it. And kept adding more. And it kept getting better. :-)

My other favorite thing to do for the Super Bowl is to get some beer for each of the cities involved. It's been easy the past couple years with Seattle involved (is there another NFL city with so much great beer?), and I know Denver (OK, Boulder, but close enough) has some good stuff, but what's good that comes from Charlotte that (this is important) can I find locally?

My first unemployed week in almost a decade, and I'm enjoying puttering!
