I have to admire men of faith such as yourself. However, here is a data point to consider:

K6-3 will beat PII (and therefore Katmai) clock for clock. This will become clearly apparent within a month and a half. Rambus won't save Intel because AMD has access to it also. If the K6-3 core beats the best Intel core available, then it seems a foregone conclusion that AMD's next generation architecture will blow PII out of the water. We'll have to wait for Willamette to see how Intel compares. Of course, by then, K8 will be on the way. <gg>
