Yes, well, we'll see. Of course, if they get to not account for spending on Iraq and the War on Terror generally, I have little doubt that the "Federal Deficit Likely to Narrow By $100 Billion," as the headline says.

However, the real problems will come in later years. Especially if one party controls both Houses in Congress and the Executive branch. There just isn't that much discretionary spending to cut outside of the military, SS and various Republican pet dogs.

I admit to leaning Democratic. But I am a Democrat who strongly prefers split govt. Power corrupts.... everyone. Always.
