I think the reaction you received is not surprising. First off, I don't think you can get the tone of this thread from reading a few postings. Secondly, some folks here bristle at being called a perma bear as this typically suggests one is making some statement without grounds or that their views are wholly without merit.

Say for a minute that the market does crash in some apocalyptic fashion -- will that make the "perma bears" suddenly right? Sure it will. That others have made huge profits from the market in the interim does not invalidate the thesis or position some hold. And if it never happens? I guess they'll be dead and wrong.

I'm just an opportunist and I do not think I am at all alone here. I have no qualms extracting $ from the market despite any opinion I may hold about it. I got into market timing to make money; that I believe the tech bubble will burst one day is immaterial - nothing in the setups I trade starts off with "Is the market over/under valued?"

There's some excellent thinking and analysis going on here - of value to "bears" and "bulls", and neutral folks, alike.
