What about this theoritical scenario. Apple's split. Ellison gets the hardware to build his NC ports and embed the education mkt for which this is perfect. Jobs brings the OS/Rapsody and Claris to Pixar. Newton spun off or merged with an existing pen company (Telxon?). We are happy because a split would unlock hidden Pe. It would be a better situation for the clones and users (Mac lives forever). Job's company would become a true alternative (with clout this time) to MSFT, and attack the Unix/ corporate server mkt, which really hasn't converted to NT yet. Call it the last frontier.
