I don't know anything about Bolton but I will try to keep my eyes and ears open in the near future, so's to gain an objective opinion about him.

There is way too much emphasis on bashing politicians for not having sqeaky clean histories, especially in their personal lives. Youthful affairs, spats, flings, indulgences, etc are always juicy and only occasionally tell us what kind of person we are dealing with in the present.

However, I can believe that politicians are personally corrupt and that this carries over into their political, and professional conduct. There needs to be compelling objective evidence of that, not just mudslinging by political opponents. The latter is an insult to common decency.
