It basically verify the data I provided previously. It is nice to see that the Panasonic DVD-RAM will be readable by some new DVD-ROM.

Creative Lab doesn't makes their own CD-ROM, DVD-RAM/ROM, they OEM them from Panasonic, Toshiba, Sony or Mitsumi...this may be why it is not mentioned in the article. The only surprise to me is why Mitsumi not mention at all. It is a major player in CD-ROM industry. It bought affordable 4x IDE CD-ROM to the market and now used by Dell, GW2k, Compaq...

Until DVD-RAM or DVD+RW able to write CD-DA and CDR and price dropped to $400/unit. I don't see rewritable DVD will gain wide acceptance but this can happen as early as late 1998 to mid 1999.
