John G,

You have noted AMAT's premium to the semiconductor equipment sector. Regardless of qualitative differences among the group, AMAT offers portfolio managers much greater liquidity than any other company in the industry. Also The NY Times noted today that the average technology stock in the S&P 500 appreciated 34% during the year ending April 30, while the average technology stock not in the S&P declined 14% during the same period. AMAT is the only semiconductor equipment stock in the S&P 500.

By the way, great job on your sentiment indicator thread. It seems to have called the bottom perfectly. I'm sure sorry I didn't pay enough attention!
