My guess is that you would do well to upgrade your video card. The one that you have fits the minimum requirement suggested by EA the game maker of C&C Generals. They also recommended DirectX 8.1 driver or higher be installed.

Do you have an updated driver for your video card or are you still using the video card driver that was installed when you bought your Dell? If you haven't updated, the easiest and usually least painful way to update the video card driver is to go to the Dell support site and get it through them. If you've registered your machine with Dell there should be a profile for your PC with your customer/machine ID# that will let you scan for hardware/software updates. Otherwise, if you feel adventurous, you can download an updated driver from NVIDIA's driver page...

Depending on how much gaming is done on your machine, a new video card will handle newer games much better than the card that you have. Updating the driver for your current card (if you haven't) will help and if you aren't really into the latest and greatest games..might suffice.
