Service Merchandise Banks on Bandwidth Management, Page 26, May 1, 2000, Information Week. Danny Schunk, VP of IT, says by September all 221 stores will use Flash Networks' Nettgain technology for instore kiosks. Speed will increase from 30 seconds to deliver a web page down to 5 seconds. Nettgain software relies on reducing bandwidth needs for existing traffic. Service Merchandise now uses an aging satellite network and does not need replacement when used with Nettgain.
