Note how volatile the Sox.x has been.Yet it is amazingly resilient.On tueday Amat will report their earnings and hold a conference call. The best conference call reported in the semi equipment sector has been KLA Tencor.They beat estimates by three cents -reported a flat to equal backlog and had a future vision of seasonal down to flat for the next quarter.Amat is the 800 pound Gorilla, Klac and Nvls are jockeying for the number 2 spot.

If Amat goes,the sox will go and the NAZ and S&P will go.If they go a retest of Aprils lows would be a reasonable target.That would mean some great deals during a headshake that could reverse very quickly.

I think that any pop up tomorrow will be a good place for me to take some profits on my short term trading stocks:Nvls ,cohu and orcl.Although I want to keep these as long term holds - there is nothing wrong with having more of them at a lower adjusted price.So I think I'll get back to cash and no margin with the hope of working down an average- by buying the next dip.

Let's face it any break out up,almost always has a sharp shakeout before the rise.At least I've learned to expect it-with a little luck I might anticipate it. If not the pop up into above resistance will be graciously accepted.

I'll be trading tomorrow in the A.M. - if you have a moment to voice your short term thoughts, they would be truly valued.
